Donald Raymond Rectenwald

Rectenwald was an avid genealogist and became a charter member of the First Families of Western Pennsylvania.

 

Donald Raymond Rectenwald, of Ross, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at North Hills Health and Rehabilitation.

He was born Nov. 25, 1932, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Raymond and Eva (Burns) Rectenwald.

He was the husband of 58 years to Mary Catherine (Callio) Rectenwald and father of Anita (Phil), Joan (Patrick), Steven (Sherri), Carol (Jim), Teresa (Mike) and the late Donnie; grandfather of Kristin, Jennifer, Kimberly, James, Tracey, Daniel, Michelle, Kelly and Shanna; and great-grandfather of Nathaniel Hamilton. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Audrey Rectenwald and many nieces and nephews.

Rectenwald was an avid genealogist and became a charter member of the First Families of Western Pennsylvania. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during Korea. We shall always carry him with us in our hearts.

Friends will be received from 6-9 p.m. Friday at T.B. Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Highway, North Hills, where a blessing service will be held at noon Saturday.
