I got to West View Towers - in the Plaza - to vote - @ 7:20 am today. A woman yelled at me - told me they were "closed" and to "go away". I knocked again & asked: "is this the voting area?" She said "we're closed! until the judge gets here!" and slammed the door. I could not believe it... If you know the phone # to that polling place - can I please have it - I need to find out who that judge is & ask them why they were late & report them- did they not know today was election day? Remember this happened at the other polling site in West View in 2010? Who are these moron judges? I gotta tell Marty Griffin...

Hey, Jen, I heard you this morning on Marty's show. I cannot believe any judge worth his salt would be late to open a polling place. That is appalling, and this situation should to be brought to the public's attention. We need to know who that judge is!

Right, ladies ! - if they don't want to do it - they should step aside, Lynn... Marty was howling, huh, Carol? - he could not believe it, either... I hope I was using my best Pittsburghese for him. Seriously: I just watched a story on KD news about this - and they showed a glimpse of the judge. I voted @ 5:30 pm and spoke to her & got her name. I will be following thru w/this, if I can find the proper person to complain to. Her excuses to me fell on deaf ears - she knew about the importance of this day for a long time... take care guys Jen

Given that voter turnout is not what it should be, the poll not opening in time could determine whether a person was able to vote or not. What is upsetting is that I believe these election judges get paid for their services. I am not sure where that funding comes from, but I assume it is from the taxpayer - read: me.
