Five Shoplifters Hit Louis Vuitton Ross Park Mall Store, Steal Pricey Handbags
Police said they have leads and are reviewing surveillance video of the brazen theft.
Ross Township police are looking for five people suspected of walking into the Louis Vuitton Store in Ross Park Mall about 8 p.m. Thursday and walking out with an undetermined number of handbags.
Store officials were conducting an inventory Friday morning to determine the extent of the loss. The designer handbags aren't cheap, with some costing more than $1,000 each.

"Based on surveillance video it does appear that these five individuals were working together," said Ross Police Detective Brian Kohlhepp. "The store was open at the time and employees did attempt to confront the actors when they fled the store. No one was injured and no customers were ever in danger."
Kohlhepp said the group left the mall in a car, but there is not a good description of the vehicle. "The group appears to be a mix of male and females all in their 20’s or early 30’s and all appear to be African-American," said Kohlhepp. "There are witnesses and we are following a number of investigative leads at this time."
Police are also reviewing surveillance video.
"Any time that an incident like this occurs our first concern is for the safety of our customers and mall employees,” a Ross Park Mall spokesman said in a statement. "We at Ross Park Mall are committed to providing a safe, quality shopping environment for our shoppers and retail tenants."

Where was mall security when the store workers confronted the 5 people? How did the 5 people leave the mall fast enough that no security could catch up with them on their fancy segways? Maybe they should do their job instead of chatting with the girl from the hair straightener booth as I have seen them on Saturday.

What a dumb statement from the mall. Ok, if your first concern is safety, what is your action? Who cares what you are concerned about...

This completely makes my blood boil!!!! I work my butt off to pay for things needed in my household, such as; food, paper towels, toilet tissue, school lunches, clothing, gas, insurance....etc, and these Godless thieves come along and make the price of items we all need, go up, because they are selfish, self centered and self serving iidiots! I don't even own one of the Louis Vuitton bags, let alone even think about buying one of them and I certainly would never satisfy the need to steal one! I hope these five morons get caught and I hope each one remembers it's a felony that comes with a nice long stay in one of the state maintained correctional facilities. which our tax dollars pay for...yet another debt that these brainless cretins take from our wallets!!! If they can put that much effort into scamming and stealing, imagine if they earned an honest dollar! Grrrrr, this really makes me angry!!!!!!
