Frost Advisory Issued for Pittsburgh Area

Advisory is in effect overnight Sunday into Monday morning.

The fall season has just begun, and there is clearly a chill in the air.

The national weather service has issued a frost advisory for much of the Pittsburgh area, including Ross and West View from 2-9 a.m. Monday.

"Colder air will continue to pour into the region on Sunday with clearing skies and lighter winds expected Sunday night," the weather service advisory stated. "This should allow temperatures to fall into the 30's across a vast swath of the region. Widespread frost is expected in portions of eastern Ohio where conditions are likely to be the coldest, while areas of frost are likely to string out in portions of Western Pennsylvania and the northern West Virginia panhandle as well by early Monday morning."

If you have sensitive outdoor plants, gardening experts suggest covering them this evening, to prevent any damage.
