McCandless Crossing Update: Three Restaurants Signed, Second Hotel Possible
Phase Four of the development is on the east side of McKnight Road between Duncan Avenue and Cumberland Road.
Three chain restaurants have signed agreements to build in the final phase of McCandless Crossing.
"The three restaurants which have signed are Bonefish Grille, Longhorn Steakhouse, and Carrabbas," said Bruce Betty, McCandless Land Use Administrator. "They're planning five restaurants total along that stretch of McKnight Road."
Betty said construction could begin late in 2013.
Betty said there is also talk of a short stay hotel, adjacent to the 12 screen Cinimark Movie theater, but the hotel industry wants to gauge the success of the Home 2 Suites by Hitlon, under construction, next to LA Fitness, before deciding on a second hotel.
There are two open slots for restaurants in McCandless Crossing. Which ones would you like to see built there? Tell us in the comments section below.

This is perfect timing for Cracker Barrel to finally make their presence known in the North Hills. it would do a terrific business and there is a definite need for more family style restaurants.

We would like to see a RUBY TUESDAY RESTAURANT and also a STEAK & SHAKE. In our travels, we always find these two eateries very popular. Why the North Hills has not had one of these or both is beyond me. Thank You for asking, Hope to see them here in the near future.

I have no strong opinion on these three restaurants at this time. They are not chains I would personally have lured to the development although I am happy to see restaurants of any sort come to a corridor lacking options.

Interesting viewing the comments. Bonefish Grille is super restaurant.
We can't lose with this one. I thought I recalled "First Watch", which is
located in Cranberry was to be added to the mix. I wonder what happened.
I'm thinking perhaps Panera nixed that addition.

The north hills has an abundance of chain restaurants. The last thing we need is another chain. The space should be utilized for more unique local restaurants similar to what is happening in Lawrenceville, East End and the Strip.

I heard that Michael Symon is expanding his chain of B-Spots to Pittsburgh. This would be the perfect place and it is a small-business chain.
