North Hills Seventh-Grader Wins 2012 Holiday Card Contest
North Hills students submitted 93 entries for this year's contest.
Congratulations to North Hills Junior High School seventh-grade student Lily Schumann, winner of the 2012 North Hills School District Holiday Card Contest.
North Hills students submitted 93 entries for this year's contest. Lily's colored pencil cardinal drawing won rave reviews from judges to take home first place honors.
Her art teacher is JoHannah Brawdy.
The drawing also will be entered in the Allegheny Intermediate Unit's Student Artwork Contest to compete against entries from all other Allegheny County school districts for the chance to appear on the AIU's holiday card.

What a great choice for the winning card! Lily, your subject is beautiful, and your artwork is very well done. I have always loved the cardinal and seeing its bright red coloring all winter. The design itself is perfect for all denominations that celebrate a holiday this time of the year. Congratulations to you.
