Ross Conducting Traffic Study of McIntyre & Kane Ross Intersection
A nearby resident is concerned about safety there.
Ross Township Police, at the request of board of commissioners President Grant Montgomery, will conduct a traffic study of the entrance to Kane-Ross Regional Center at 110 McIntyre Road.
Montgomery asked for the study after hearing concerns from a nearby resident.
"The concern the resident posted was that the new residents (of the Kane independent living apartments) are walking across the street there," he said. "We are all well aware, there is a very short sight line there."
In addition to pedestrian traffic, Montgomery said there are concerns about the difficulty of making a left-hand turn coming out of the Kane Center. He also admits there are limits to the ability of the township to improve the intersection.
"The biggest problem is that it is a state road," he said. "So we'll do a study, and if we determine a problem, we'll present it to PennDOT, and then likely they will do a another study."
