View Shoplifting Incidents in Ross Township in a larger map
An analysis of Ross Township police reports indicates a majority of the reported shoplifting cases in August occurred in Ross Park Mall. Considering the concentration of high-end retail shops, that may not be surprising.
Our analysis also revealed the following:
- In two cases, a mother and her juvenile daughter were charged. On August 1 Tennile Tomlin and her daughter were charged with stealing $433 worth of clothing from Ross Park Mall. On Aug. 12, Kate Spiker, 36, of Sharpsburg, and her 14 year old daughter were charged with stealing $7,390 in handbags and high-end purses from several Ross Park Mall stores.
- A total of $14,296.92 worth of merchandise was reported stolen by shoplifters in August.
- Of the 18 reported cases of shoplifting, 5 have resulted in arrests, at least 2 the direct result of surviellance video.
