Ross Resident Joseph Brimmeier Joins Port Authority Board

County Executive Rich Fitzgerald appointed Brimmeier, the former CEO of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission.

Ross resident Joseph Brimmeier was recently selected to be the newest member of the board of directors for the Port Authority of Allegheny County.

Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald appointed Brimmeier, whose term will expire Dec. 31, 2016.

From 2003 to 2011, Brimmeier was chief executive officer of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. Earlier, he was chief of staff to former U.S. Rep. Ron Klink, D-Murrysville, and deputy auditor general for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Brimmeier also has held various positions within Allegheny County government, including parks director.

He is graduate of Youngstown State University

“Now more than ever, it is crucial that our board consists of leaders with vision and expertise. I am confident that Joe will quickly become a valued asset to our board during this challenging chapter in Port Authority’s history,” said Steve Bland, CEO of Port Authority, in a released statement.
