Saturday's EGGstravaganza to Feature Egg Hunt, Visit by Easter Bunny
Ross Township will hold its annual EGGstravaganza Saturday at the community center and park. Late registrations are still being accepted.
It's not too late to register for Saturday's Eggstravaganza, which features an Easter egg hunt and pictures with the Easter Bunny, among other activities.
The event starts at 11 a.m. at the Ross Township Community Park and Center at 1000 Ross Municipal Drive. The cost for registration is $5 per child (this is for new registrations only. Rgistrations made before March 16 were free.)
Credit card registrations will be taken Friday night only. Call the Township's Parks and Recreation Department at 412-931-7055, ext. 204.
Cash and checks will be accepted Saturday before the event at the concession stand near John Herb Field.
About 400 children are registered so far for the event, said Vickey Trader, assistant parks and recreation director.
It will be held rain or shine.
For the egg hunt, children will receive an empty egg cartoon, which they will each need to fill with a dozen plastic eggs in order to receive their goodie bags. The hunt will start at 11:15 a.m., with the starting time staggered by five minutes for different age groups.
Parents may participate with only those children age 3 and younger.
After the hunt, additional activities are available for the children including face-painting, crafts and games. Many will be held indoors.
Children will also be able to get their pictures taken with the Easter Bunny.
Hot dogs, chicken tenders and other food and concession items will be for sale at the concession stand near the baseball field.
The event is sponsored by MedExpress.
