Seneca Valley walked away winners Friday in a key WPIAL Northern Eight Conference matchup that pitted the Raiders against the North Hills Indians.

Seneca Valley outscored the Indians 40-26 at Martorelli Stadium. Both teams came into the contest with 5-1 overall records.

Raiders senior running back Forrest Barnes rushed for 156 yards and had three touchdowns in Friday’s game, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Quarterback Jordan Brown passed for 205 yards and had two touchdowns, the Trib said.

By the second half, Seneca Valley led North Hills by a score of 33-19.

For the Indians, wide receiver Jordan Blackmon had two touchdowns, including one on a 90-yard kickoff return, according to the Trib.

Prior to Friday’s game, Cranberry Patch Editor Jessica Sinichak made a bet with North Hills Patch Editor Rich Cook that Seneca Valley would beat North Hills.

She was right.

As the loser, Cook, who was certain the Indians would win the day, will now have to wear the Raiders colors of black and Carolina blue and post a photo of it on Patch.

Stay tuned!
