Signs Welcoming Visitors to Laurel Gardens to Be Unveiled Thursday
One has been installed near the restaurant at the corner of Sixth Avenue and Rochester Road. The other has been installed on Seventh Street, just off of Babcock Boulevard.
New signs welcoming visitors to the Laurel Gardens neighborhood will be unveiled Thursday at 9 a.m. in the parking lot of Frank's Pizza and Chicken.
The identical signs, measuring 48 inches by 96 inches, were purchased using a $10,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, awarded in July 2006.
One has been installed near the restaurant at the corner of Sixth Avenue and Rochester Road. The other has been installed on Seventh Street, just off of Babcock Boulevard.
Commissioner John Sponcer, who represents the Laurel Gardens area, and other officials will be on site to present the new signs.
Check back with Patch for photos and video of the ceremony.

call me crazy but that sign doesn't look like it's 48 feet by 96 feet.

Jane, it's 4.8 feet by 9.6 feet. You forgot the decimel points.

No, there was some confusion, and I apologize for causing it. I've corrected the size.
