Traffic Alert: Expect Delays on Parkway North & Crosstown Boulevard This Weekend

Crews will be performing bridge inspections and resurfacing work.

Weather permitting; it will be slow going on portions of the Parkway North and Crosstown Boulevard this weekend.

Parkway North
Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction for bridge inspections between the Perrysville (Exit 5) and Bellevue/West View (Exit 7) interchanges, according to PennDOT District 11.

The work will be performed in the southbound lanes from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Traffic restrictions in the northbound lanes will occur from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Crews from HDR Engineering will perform inspections on the bridges that carry Jacks Run Road and Bellevue Road over I-279.

Drivers are advised to use caution, slow down and be prepared for changing traffic patterns when traveling through the area.

Crosstown Boulevard
The ramps from southbound I-579 to the southbound (outbound) Liberty Bridge will be closed beginning Friday 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday.

In addition, southbound I-579 will be reduced to a single lane in the ramp area and the northbound I-579 off-ramp to 7th Avenue will be closed, PennDOT announced.

The closures are necessary so crews will apply a latex concrete overlay on the ramp from I-579 to the southbound Liberty Bridge, and replace expansion dams and conduct steel repairs on the ramp from northbound I-579 to 7th Avenue.
