How about a Hobby Lobby?

We had Bill & Walt's for a long time, first at Northway and later in the old library space on Three Degree. The only question is how well it would do since hobby shops as a whole have died down. The one in Wexford has been gone for over a decade and supplies for coin and stamp collectors (two of the groups who went there often) can be found nearly everywhere since Treasure Hunt has expanded. Still, not a bad idea as long as there was enough audience for it.

Whichever doesn't come to that space could fit nicely in the newly vacated spot in the Ross Park Mall food court!!!

Farmtown Market. They took over where Cajun Grill had been in January and went out within the last few weeks.

Well that's sad. I was kinda rooting for them since they were a mom & pop type place.

I also just heard today Dolce Mia is on its way out too. South Park Mall in Charlotte (which is upscale and similar to Ross Park in terms of stores but is bigger and has better parking) has a Chipotle. Let's put that in the middle and stick a Smoothie King in the Farmtown space!!!

I agree on the ice cream stand, or perhaps a Rita's! Krispy Kreme is struggling overall and didn't do so well in this area; the Cranberry and Robinson stores are both gone.

There is a new Butcher shop on McKnight. I believe it's specialty is kosher meats. I have no idea what it is like or how expensive it is. The Patch did a story on it a while back. Might be worth a try.

Ross needs a good farm stand somewhere. We had the one at the corner of Rochester and Sewickley Oakmont, but that's been gone since the early 90s. Given the large presence of Soergel's and Shenot's, perhaps one of them could open a smaller stand, especially come corn season, for those who don't want to brave the Wexford construction.

All of these are excellent suggestions. I would welcome a farm market in particular, sort of the "farm stand" that Scott Baret mentioned.

Oh, how I wish!! I hate that I have to go to either Robinson or Cranberry to go to Walmart on the weekend. But the difference in my grocery bill makes the drive worth it.
