If you are headed downtown or east through the Squirrel Hill Tunnels, you may have to use a detour.
PennDOT District 11 announced the following projects will be going on, starting Friday night.
I-579 Crosstown Boulevard
Ramp improvements
The ramp from southbound I-579 (Crosstown Boulevard) to the southbound (outbound) Liberty Bridge will be closed from 8 p.m. on Friday through 6 a.m. on Monday. In addition, southbound I-579 will be reduced to a single lane in the ramp area and the northbound I-579 off-ramp to 7th Avenue will be closed.
Parkway East (I-376)
Squirrel Hill Tunnel Rehabilitation
Traffic in the westbound (inbound) Squirrel Hill Tunnel on the Parkway East (I-376) will be restricted to a single lane from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday for tunnel rehabilitation work.
