West View Borough Votes to Join CONNECT

The Congress of Neighboring Communities works to form consensus among elected leaders on solutions to issues ranging from transportation, emegency medical services and blight to green infrastructure.

The Council voted, 6-0, Wednesday to join CONNECT, an organization that promotes cooperation and collaboration between the city of Pittsburgh and the municipalities that share a common border with the city.

The Congress of Neighboring Communities voted to allow West View and Carnegie — which do not share borders with the city but often are impacted by city decisions and services — into its organization during its June 17 Congress, said CONNECT Associate Director Kathy Risko.

Risko spoke before the West View Borough Council, encouraging members to join the organization.
