West View Police Arrest Four Boys After BB Gun Theft, Chase One Over Hill
The extent of the boy's injuries after running from police and sliding down a steep hillside near Oakwood and Center Avenues is not known. Police call an ambulance as a precaution.
One young man was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries Monday night after fleeing from a West View police officer and sliding down a steep hillside near the intersection of Oakwood and Center avenues.
He was one of four juveniles, whoses ages were not immediately released, arrested by police for the retail theft of a BB pellet gun at Kmart at about 8 p.m., according to West View Officer Matt Pavlecic.
In addition to the stolen gun, the juveniles were found with a bookbag containing black clothing and a black ski mask, he said.
Police arrested two of the four at about 9:30 p.m. Officers spotted the other two on Center Avenue later that night. One of the youths ran when the officers approached, and an officer pursued him over the hillside, Pavlecic said.
The extent of the boy's injuries are not known this morning. Pavlecic said police called an ambulance as a precaution.
"Everybody's OK," he said.
Charges are pending, he said.

Mrs G.......Exactly what about this article makes you believe that the perps were from "the Hood" as you put it? Or, do you believe that all kids from West View are altar boys?

Regardless of where the kids are from, it is troubling to me that there are constantly kids loitering in West View. They are either riding their bikes through business parking lots while customers are trying to avoid hitting them or they are just hanging out in groups. This leads to nothing but trouble!
