While most Ross and West View residents were asleep, members of the Perrysville Volunteer Fire Company were busy checking for multiple transformer fires and downed trees early Saturday morning.
A powerful cold front that would eventually spawn a tornado in Queens, New York moved through just before daylight.
A large fallen tree closed a portion of Perry Highway for a short time until crews could clear it away.
