Another grocery store will soon be opening along McKnight Road. A Bottom Dollar Food store will open later this summer in Ross Towne Center.

It will be located between the now closed Roomful Express and the Goodwill Industries store, at 7221 McKnight Road.

She did not offer a specific date for the opening of the store.

Waldo also said the store is looking for employees. "On average, each store employs approximately 30-35 associates. We're always looking for talented people who are fun, energetic and have a passion for helping customers as well as fellow associates,” she said.

Bottom Dollar Food has stores 11 stores in the Pittsburgh area. It is owned by Delhaize America, which has more than 1,500 stores along the East Coast, according to the company’s web site.

With number 12 in Ross Twp and number 13 currently under construction in McKees Rocks, Bottom Dollar's parent Delhaize is certainly making an impact in the Pittsburgh region. I think these openings makes it more difficult for Wal-mart to introduce its Neighborhood Market concept in the area. Bottom Dollar and Aldi are fighting aggressively for the best small locations.

I can't wait for them to open in the North Hills...I love that store and don't like driving all the way to Bridgeville to shop there.
