Ross Township Woman Leads Clothing Drive for the Homeless

Items donated include coats, gloves, scarves, boots, and sweaters for men, women, and children, blankets and toiletries.

A Ross Township woman has led a drive at West Penn Allegheny Health System to provide clothing and medical information to the homeless during this holiday season.

Erica Just's "Keep them Warm" program distributed it first set of donated coats at the Pleasant Valley Shelter for Men on Pittsburgh’s North Side on Monday, Nov. 19.

Just is the project coordinator at STAR (Simulation, Teaching and Academic Research) Center at West Penn Allegheny Health System. The donations differ from the usual winter clothing drive in that WPAHS interns, residents and physicians as well as STAR personnel also talked about medical issues facing the homeless, such as flu prevention and frostbite.
