Black Friday Sales: What Ross and West View Shoppers Need to Know

While some major retailers planned to open their doors as early as 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving, plenty of deals will still await shoppers Friday.

With each passing year, it seems Black Friday begins earlier and earlier—6 a.m., then 5 a.m., then 4 a.m. This year, Black Friday actually started on Thanksgiving night.

Should you be one of those traditional folks who don't believe in Black Friday shopping until it's actually Black Friday, however, here's what you need to know about shopping opportunities in the northern suburbs.

Plenty of Black Friday deals are out there around North Allegheny and throughout the North Hills and Cranberry.

Among them is Nordstrom, which proudly trumpets its longstanding tradition of not putting up Christmas decorations or starting holiday sales until the day after Thanksgiving. A sign in its store windows reads: “We just like the idea of celebrating one holiday at a time.”

The Nordstrom store in Ross Park mall is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday., and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Walmart
Walmart in Richland and Cranberry townships will be open all day Thursday through Friday. The Cranberry store is open 24 hours every day, but the Richland store closes at midnight on Black Friday.

Walmart plans to offer holiday doorbusters and its biggest deals between 10 and 11 p.m. Thursday while supplies last. These include deals on TVs, iPads, an electric scooter for $79 and a steam mop for $39.

Target
Not to be outdone, Target plans to open at 9 p.m. Thanksgiving. According to an ad leaked online, its best deals will be for TVs, a Nook tablet, a Nikon camera and an Xbox 360 Kinect bundle.

The Target stores listed below will be open from 9 p.m. Thursday until 11 p.m. Friday; and from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday.

Best Buy
At Best Buy, doors opened at midnight. Its sales include deals on TVs, phones and Samsung laptop bundles. The store is open from midnight to 10 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday.

Kohl's
"Operation Black Friday" encourages Kohl's shoppers to take advantage of more than 500 early-bird specials by buying online from now until 4 p.m. ET Friday and in the store from midnight Thursday until Friday at 1 p.m. Its website ad notes that hours might vary by store.

The stores are closed on Thanksgiving. Hours for the stores listed below are midnight Thursday to midnight Friday; 6 a.m. to midnight Saturday; and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.

TJ Maxx
TJ Maxx's website does not give you much info about Black Friday sales, but its Facebook page does at https://www.facebook.com/TJMaxx.

Local stores are closed on Thanksgiving. The TJ Maxx at Cranberry Community Shopping Center opens at 5 a.m. Friday. The TJ Maxx at Richland Mall opens at 7 a.m. Friday.
