Changing Hands: Ziggy's Restaurant Expected to Get New Owners, New Concept

The restaurant, which has operated for decades at the intersection of Perry Highway and Cumberland Road, is about to undergo another name change.

Ziggy's Tavern, located at 9101 Perry Highway is closed -- its electronic outside sign displays a message thanking patrons for their support.

Ron Sofranko, a partner of Ziggy's doesn't expect the restaurant to stay closed for very long.

"We are exploring options with several potential new owners," he said. "There is a lot excitement about his location, we hope to make an announcement in a few weeks."

Over the years the restaurant has operated under a variety of names including Baldini's, Dave & Duffy's, Magoo's, Fiddler's and most recently, Ziggy's.

Were you a fan of Ziggy's? Are you sorry to see that it's changing hands? What type of restaurant would you like to see at this location? Tell us in the comments section below.
