New West View Isaly's Maintains Traditions

The biggest change is that the popular dining spot is now open 7 days a week.

When Bob Dominek and Sue Affolder bought the Isaly's restaurant on Perry Highway in West View last month, they promised little would change.

And for the most part, they have kept their promise.

“The only thing different is now we are open 7 days a week," said Dominek.

But during the transition, the new owners gave Isaly's a facelift.

“New paint on the walls, just spruce it up a bit," said Dominek. "We’re going to get new frames for the pictures, get those all set up real nice. All new matting. Other than that, pretty much the same."

Dominek said customers loyal to former owners  never left.

“We pretty much knew what Tom and Gail were doing, and it’s pretty much the same right now, with the addition of being open two extra days," said Dominek.

Affolder and Dominek decided not to pay the licensing fee to use the Isaly’s name. Their new store is called I Shall Always Love You Sweetie, for which the word Isaly’s is the acronym.

Affolder also owns 5 Fools Bar & Grille on Perry Highway in McCandless and Around the Corner on Babcock Boulevard in .
