North Park Lounge Owner Bringing Rum Runners Saloon to Ross Township

The new restaurant is expected to open sometime in February or March.

The newest edition to Mark Baranowski's North Park Lounge empire will be called Rum Runners Saloon, and it will open at the site of the former Sunseri’s (and before that Jergel’s, which moved to Warrendale) restaurant at 3385 Babcock Boulevard.

"We're hoping to have all of our permits by the end of the month," said Baranowski. "We're so excited about this new location, there's already been a lot of interest."

Baranowksi said the entire right half of the existing structure will be torn down, and rebuilt at the same height as the left half of the building, in order to stay above the flood plane. He hopes to be open by February or March.

The restaurant's menu will be similar to the original North Park Lounge, featuring a wide variety of sandwiches, some entrees, and plenty of appetizers and munchies.

It will also feature entertainment, similar to its predecessor, Jergel's.

Baranowski will look to hire 50 - 70 employees. Applicants can e-mail him at Mark@northparklounge.com

This is great news for the Township with all the new homes that are being built where the country club was. The more people that move in, the more monety that will be spent, the more businesses we'll need & that means more money for the Township & small businesses! I can't wait for it to open, it's been sitting there vacant for too long. I hope it doesn't need a tremendous amount of work because of that though! Good work Mark! :)

Not to Mention more traffic, just what we need, when Siebs has a large crowd this entire parking lot of the old Sunseris is completely full now, those people are now going to have to find somewhere else to park as well as the karate studio also fills this parking lot up, babcock is goling to be a mess with people parked along the berm. Seems to me these busniess should have to meet some requirements for parking space based on number or patrons that the business can hold, oh wait that would mean the township would actually have to do something, which wont happen. This area will be a safety hazard for drivers once this opens.

Well, I'm glad to see something going in there. Considering it is a school bus stop, however, I hope there will be some safety precautions for when they are tearing down/rebuilding part of the building.
