Pittsburgh Penguins Radio Announcer Mike Lange Will be at Gibsonia Giant Eagle

Lange will sign autographs during a meet-and-greet.

Pittsburgh Penguins radio announcer Mike Lange—known for his colorful comments like "scratch my back with a hacksaw"—will be at the for a meet-and-greet Friday.

From 5 to 6:30 p.m., Lange also will sign autographs at the store in Northtowne Square at 5600 William Flynn Highway in Gibsonia.

The Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters inducted the "Voice of the Pittsburgh Penguins" into its Hall of Fame last month.

"It is an honor to recognize and salute a broadcaster with such talent," said PAB President Richard Wyckoff, according to the Penguins' website. "He is unique in professional sports, not only for his 36 seasons with the Penguins, but for his creative and colorful style of play-by-play announcing. Mike makes you feel as if you are in the arena with him. He makes magic happen and the game comes alive on the radio."

Lange was awarded the Foster Hewitt award by the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2001.
