Report: Developer Planning 200 Apartment Units near Ross/Ohio Township Border

The complex would include a pool and clubhouse.

A Cranberry-based developer is planning to build nearly 200 apartment units in Ohio Township, near the border with Ross, according to the Pittsburgh Business-Times.

The plan is to build four buildings of 48 to 50 units each on an elevated site behind Stone Quarry Commons off Camp Horne Road.

The Business-Times reports the investment partnership is led by Larry Dorsch, who recently presented a conceptual plan to the Ohio Township Planning commission.

Ohio Township Board of Supervisors Chairman Tom Beatty confirmed to the Business-Times that the planning commission approved the conceptual plan, which includes a pool and clubhouse.

“It’s currently zoned commercial, so it needs rezoned for residential use,” Beatty told the Business-Times. "A rezoning of the property will require a public hearing."

No word on when construction might get underway, or what rents might be at the complex.
