Ross Planning Commission To Consider GetGo on McKnight Road

The planning commission meets at 7:00 p.m. Thursday to vote on plan to build on the site of former car dealership.

The Ross Township Planning Commission will meet Thursday evening to consider a proposal by Giant Eagle Inc. to build a GetGo convenience store and gas station along McKnight Road. 

The proposed business is to be located at 7675 McKnight Road, on the property . 

The Ross Zoning Hearing Board voted 4-0 on Nov. 9 to approve the installation of fueling stations at the site.

Giant Eagle plans to add nine fueling islands for a total of 18 pumps on the 131,199 square-foot lot, said James Atzert, chairman of the zoning hearing board. 

Seventeen pumps will be used for gasoline, while one pump will be used for diesel, he said.

The company also owns a  nearby at 5603 Babcock Blvd. 

Zoning officials were told the company planned to keep that location open, Atzert said. 

If approved by the planning commission, the proposal would then go to the Ross commissioners for final approval.
