Allegheny County's Annual Tree Recycling Program Underway

Is your Christmas tree dropping its needles or looking a little tired? Drop it off to be turned into mulch at a county park near your home.

Allegheny County's fifth annual Christmas tree recycling program runs through Saturday, Jan. 19 at all nine regional parks.

County residents may drop off trees from dawn to dusk daily. All lights, decorations, tinsel and stands must be removed from trees.

The trees will be turned into mulch for use in Allegheny County’s nine regional parks.

Trees may be dropped at these locations in the parks:

  • North Park – Parking lot at the swimming pool
  • Settler’s Cabin – Parking lot by the wave pool
  • Hartwood Acres – Parking lot at the mansion
  • Deer Lakes – Parking lot by the Veterans Shelter
  • Harrison Hills – Parking lot at the intersection of Chipmunk and Cottontail drives
  • Boyce Park – Parking lot by the wave pool
  • Round Hill – Parking lot between Meadow and Alfalfa shelters
  • South Park – Parking lot at the swimming pool
  • White Oak – Parking lot by Poplar Shelter
