Nemo Blizzard to Bypass Western PA, Flights Cancelled at Pittsburgh International

Forecasters say the blizzard could leave up to two feet of snow in parts of New England.

Blizzard warnings are in effect from New York City to coastal Maine as a major winter storm, dubbed "Nemo" by the Weather Channel , moves up the east coast.

Up to two feet of snow, damaging winds, and coastal flooding are expected.

Here is detailed look at the weekend forecast.

  • Saturday: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 30. Northwest wind 8 to 11 mph.
  • Saturday Night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 20. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph after midnight.
  • Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 48. Southeast wind 5 to 7 mph.
  • Sunday Night: Rain, mainly after 1am. Low around 37. Southeast wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80-percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
