Many people know him as Mr. North Allegheny, from his many years in the custodial department of the North Allegheny School District and as coach of the high school girls’ golf team. Others know him as a local historian and curator of the North Allegheny Museum housed in the McKnight Elementary School. Now he is also known as an author as he and Jennifer Gill Kissel, a professional writer and editor, have published Joe’s life story, Put a Tent Over the Circus: The True Story of a Foster Child’s Love and Loss During the Great Depression.

Joe Bullick and Jennifer Kissel will be at Northland Library on Wednesday, January 23 at 7:00pm to talk about his remarkable story and how they collaborated on its publication. His book will be available for those who wish to purchase a copy.

Joe will also bring along his fabulous display collection of scrap books about the Olympics from its very early years up to modern days. Come and listen to some of Joe’s great anecdotes and reminiscences and browse the scrapbooks to remember outstanding Olympic events over the years. Please register for this free program by calling 412-366-8100, extension 113 or online at www.northlandlibrary.org/news/calendar.html
