From Your Patch Editor: Thank You, Readers

Tuesday, Oct. 15, will be my last day as editor of North Hills Patch. It's been a wonderful ride, however Patch is reorganizing, and unfortunately,  I'm not part of the plan.

I have no regrets. It's been a delight to cover the community in which I live for the past 18 months. Your kind words at meetings, your news tips, your comments pro and con about my stories are all deeply appreciated.

I strongly believe in hyper-local news and plan to continue to report on the happenings in the Ross and West View communities from another platform.

In the meantime, North Hills Patch is not going away. Patch is reviewing alternatives for some of its sites, including this one, so rest assured you will be able to continue using your Patch.

If you'd like to stay in touch,  I can be reached at Richard.Cook@acrossross.com.

Good luck Rich. In case anyone was wondering about the Patch reorganization, there were some articles about this in August. http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/business/2013/08/16/aol-lays-off-500-at-patch/2666059/

So they are laying off half the workforce. That'll work well! NOT! Guess time to check out some other sites.

Thank you, Rich, for the work that you have done. They say that "all politics are local", well, I think that you've done a nice job of making "all news is local". You filled a niche that is being missed by the local rags. I wish you all of the best in whatever they future may bring.

Richard, good luck with your new venture. 'Across Ross' . What a Great name. I'm sure you will be very successful.
Pam October 15, 2013 at 09:17 AM
So sorry to see you go, I'll be on Across Ross as well to read your in depth coverages. Is this going to be a website as well or just a Facebook read? This is the first I've heard of AOL's plans and truthfully, I'm really disappointed in AOL for it's decision to layoff people. People are the reason there is a website...news...readers!!!!! Good luck with Across Ross and your future careers... I won't be reding Patch anymore if local news stories are omitted. Thank you for all of YOUR local news. Take care!!
