Lawsuit Settled: Pittsburgh Agrees to Pay Ross Man $100K

The man was pulled over by a plainclothes officers in an unmarked car in 2006, according to the reported lawsuit.

The city of Pittsburgh has agreed to pay $100,000 to settle a Ross Township man's lawsuit against the police bureau, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The lawsuit filed by Jeff Collins stated that he was riding a motorcycle in Oakland when plainclothes police officers in an unmarked car pulled him over. He said they were not real police, and said that the officers hit and kicked him.

Collins was charged with resisting arrest and fleeing and eluding. Those charges were dismissed.
