Spike in Ross DUI Arrests Over Super Bowl Weekend

There were nearly as many DUI arrests the weekend of the big game than in the entire month of January.

Ross Township Police charged four drivers with driving under the influence during the weekend of Feb. 1-3. Three of those arrests occurred on Sunday, Feb 3, the day of the Super Bowl. In comparison, Ross police stopped a total of five drivers for DUI during the entire month of January.

"Our patrol shifts pay special attention to days that historically have a higher incidence of DUI offenses and other drug/alcohol related crimes," said Ross Detective Brian Kohlhepp. "This includes holidays, as well as major sporting events to include the Super Bowl in particular."
