Traffic Alert: Big Backups on I-279

The morning rush has slowed to a crawl.

Inbound traffic on Interstate 279 is bogged down in the area of the Center Avenue Bridge in Ross Township.

PennDOT cameras of the area show police cars and ambulances responding to an unspecified emergency which is now over, WTAE-TV reports.

Inbound traffic is backed up to beyond the Camp Horne Road interchange.
