Written Threat Forces Temporary Evacuation Of North Hills Senior High School

Police investigation continues, high school has reopened.

A written threat was discovered on a restroom wall of the Friday. According to a statement issued on the North Hills School District web site, the was immediately notified and swiftly assessed the incident.   

As a precaution, the senior high was evacuated to the – during this time police officers and building safety team members canvassed the building.  Upon completion of the search, senior high students and staff returned to the building.  

“As always, we appreciate the swift and professional response from the Ross Township Police Department,” Mr. John Kreider, North Hills Senior High principal, said.  “We value their partnership and expertise in helping to keep our schools and community safe.”

No weapons or other items of concern were found. The incident will be investigated further in order to identify the individual responsible. 

“Our first priority is the safety and welfare of our students and staff. Therefore, please know that in addition to district-imposed disciplinary action up to and including expulsion the North Hills School District will work cooperatively with the local police to pursue criminal charges against anyone threatening the safety of our schools and, most importantly, our students and staff,” Dr. Patrick J. Mannarino, superintendent, said.
