Ross Commissioners Consider Demolishing Homes, Overnight Bridge Work

The first of two commissioners' meetings begin Monday, July 15 at 6:30 p.m.

An earlier version of this story incorrectly listed the second address as 106 9th Street. The correct address is 106 9th Avenue.

Ross Township Commissioners will vote Monday on a resolution authorizing the demolition of two homes.

The first, located at 135 McIntyre Road, is valued at $156,200 according to the Allegheny County real estate web site.  The second, located at 106 9th Avenue in Laurel Gardens, is valued at 45,200 according to the real estate web site.

Township manager Doug Sample said both homes, which are abandoned properties, are essentially rotting from the inside out.

The commissioners will also vote on a request to approve overnight work on the Levi Duff Bridge, which carries Center Avenue over the Parkway North/I-279 beginning Monday night, July 15.

Extensive renovation of the bridge began in March
