Ross Commissioners Seek Grant to Add Disc Golf to Evergreen Park
The disc golf course would replace a fit trail system which is now considered dangerous.
Ross Township Commissioners voted 8-0 Monday to apply for a $72,350 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to make improvements to Evergreen Park. Commissioner Dan DeMarco was absent.
The project would:
- Add additional parking behind the pavilion
- Expand the road at the park
- Replace the fit trail system with a disc golf course
Disc golf is played much like traditional golf. Instead of a ball and clubs, however, players use a flying disc, or Frisbee®, according to the Professional Disc Golf Association.
