Hundreds of Sixth Graders Plan to Gather Today at Martorelli Stadium for Track and Field Day

Opening ceremonies are scheduled to begin at 9:25 a.m. The last event—the tug-of-war—will conclude at about 1:15 p.m.

More than 300 sixth grade students from  four elementary schools will compete in the 34th annual Track and Field Day today.

All events will be held at in West View Borough.

Activities during the day-long event include several running events, a softball throw, long jump, discus, shot put and tug-of-war.

Seating at the track is limited. Therefore, spectators are urged to bring chairs. Refreshments will be available for purchase throughout the day.

In the event of inclement weather, the track and field day will be re-scheduled for the following day—Thursday, May 3. Cancellation information will be posted on the district’s website – www.nhsd.net, the district’s Newsline 412-318-1067, as well as on Facebook and Twitter.
