Mark Your Calendar: North Hills School District 41st Annual Arts Alive

Some artwork, including a limited number of additional pottery pieces, will be available for purchase.

North Hills School District will host the 41st annual Arts Alive program tonight, Friday May 3, from 5 to 9:30 p.m. at North Hills High School.

The annual program celebrates the creative accomplishments of students in kindergarten through high school.  Arts Alive is free and open to the community.

The event features student work from a variety of mediums such as pottery, paintings, drawings, sculpture, photographs, school publications and writing projects as well as student work from the technology education department. In addition, several choral and instrumental performances will take place throughout the evening.

“Arts Alive is a celebration of our students’ talents and creativity,” said Dr. Patrick J. Mannarino, Superintendent. “This annual event provides an excellent opportunity for our community to experience the many opportunities available within North Hills School District.”

Some artwork, including a limited number of additional pottery pieces, will be available for purchase. Food booths, sponsored by the World Language Department, will offer several dining options in the school’s cafeteria.

For the second year, the North Hills’ Educational Support Personnel Association will be collecting donations for the North Hills Backpack Initiative, which provides weekend food supplies to students in need. Single-serving, individually packaged items are preferred for the following items: oatmeal, pudding, snack crackers, sandwich crackers, fruit cups, cereals, granola and cereal bars, hearty soups, canned pasta meals, tuna or boxed macaroni and cheese. Those who wish to make a monetary donation can make checks payable to North Hills Foundation and include “Backpack Initiative” in the memo.
