North Hills Jr. High Students Celebrate a Horrifying Teen Read Week

The weeklong event highlighted horror fiction and non-fiction novels.

North Hills Junior High students celebrated Teen Read Week from Oct. 15 to 19 utilizing the theme “It Came from the Library.” The weeklong event highlighted horror fiction and non-fiction novels.

Junior High School Librarian Meghan Clark capped the week’s activities with spooking storytelling from Mary Morgan Smith, Northland Library’s children's and young adult services director, and a horror-themed makeup demonstration from Monessen’s Douglas Education Center. Students from the school have competed on every season of Syfy’s Face Off reality competition.

North Hills students also completed horrifying activities such as pin the gummy body part on the cadaver, gummy bear amputations, a brain-eating competition using candy brains and a scream contest.
