North Hills School Board Reorganizes, Welcomes New Member

Thomas J. Baker begins a four-year term on the nine-member board. Baker is vice president of programs for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh.

Members of the North Hills School Board unanimously elected Timothy F. Burnett as president and Thomas Kelly as vice president in its annual reorganization meeting Monday. Both offices are one-year appointments.  

Burnett has served as a member of the school board for 10 years. He previously served a one-year term as president in 2005. Kelly is beginning his seventh year on the school board and his fourth term as vice-president.

West View District Judge Richard Opiela administered the oath of office to Baker as well as to returning members Arlene Bender, Jeff Meyer, Louis Nudi and Edward Wielgus — all of whom were elected to four-year terms in November.

Committee meetings will be held at the district’s administration center at 7 p.m. and legislative meetings take place in the North Hills Junior High large group instruction room at 7:30 p.m.
