PA Attorney General's Office Teaches McIntyre Elementary Students Internet Safety

These presentations are available for parents to view online

Through a partnership with the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office, McIntyre Elementary School conducted presentations for students in grades 2 to 6 about internet safety last week. The presentations were a result of the district's continuing effort to educate students and the school community about online safety and the types of bullying they may encounter.

Senior Supervisory Special Agent Claude Thomas from the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office spoke with students. Special Agent Thomas is an expert in the area of cyber bullying and cyber safety.

Faux Paw's "Adventures in the Internet"

The Internet Keep Safe Coalition sponsors this presentation. The purpose of the program is to promote the health and safety of youth online. iKeepSafe® uses the unique partnership with the Pennsylvania Attorney general's office to disseminate safety resources to families worldwide. Operation Safe Surf

This is an informative presentation that educates students about online predators and posting personal information online; particularly within social networking and gaming sites. Since its inception in 2006, this program has reached over 215,000 students.

Sticks & Stones: Cyber Bullying

This program discusses the devastating effects of using technology to bully. Launched in October 2009, the program has already reached over 80,000 students with the hope of putting an end to this growing epidemic.
