West View Elementary Earns Educational Leadership Award

The school will be recognized on June 27 during an awards ceremony in downtown Pittsburgh.

The following information was provided by Amanda Hartle, Communications Coordinator for the North Hills School District.

West View Elementary School has been selected to receive a 2013 Educational Leadership Award from Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania.

The Educational Leadership Award recognizes schools that engage their entire student population in Junior Achievement programming during the school year. West View Elementary gifted teacher Martin Richter has been instrumental in bringing the programming to the building since at least 2008.

A total of 45 schools from throughout western Pennsylvania and numerous individuals will be recognized on June 27 during an awards ceremony in downtown Pittsburgh.

Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy. The organization uses interactive programming to prepare young people for the real world by putting the lessons into action and contributing to their communities.
