North Hills Hockey Club Opens Registration for Developmental Team Sept. 17

Registration is open to students in grades three through nine in the North Hills School District.

North Hills High School Hockey Club will hold its developmental team registration from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 at the . 

Registration is open to students in grades three through nine in the . (First-graders and second-graders with one year of ice-skating experience may also be considered).

North Hills developmental hockey is just that, developmental, organizers said. The goal is to prepare players to advance their skill level while playing with their friends from school. Coaches will help your child learn the fundamentals of the sport through teamwork, goal setting, and sound hockey skills.

The team will practice approximately four times per month — usually Sunday evenings from October to March for a total of 25 hours.

The fee is $200 (payable in installments) and fund-raising is available to reduce costs. The fee includes jersey and socks. Some used equipment is available to borrow on a first- come, first-served basis. A $50 deposit is due at the time of registration and will be applied to the total cost. There is a $36 registration fee for USA Hockey (separate from player fees).

Founded in 1973, the North Hills High School Hockey Club offers North Hills School District student athletes grades one through 12 the opportunity to play at the varsity, junior varsity, freshman and developmental levels. The North Hills High School Hockey Club is a member of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League (PIHL).
