Amanda arrived in Pittsburgh after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh, Johnstown in 2006 where she obtained her bachelor's degree in journalism. During college, she worked for The Daily American in Somerset County as a correspondent and as a contributing writer for The Times Herald in Norristown, Pa. Amanda started her career as a community journalist in 2006 with Gateway Newspapers, a part of Trib Total Media. She covered numerous communities in Allegheny County while writing for the Sewickley Herald, The Signal Item and Coraopolis-Moon Record. After the closure of Coraopolis-Moon Record, she served as public relations officer for Moon Area School District switching from reporter to spokesperson. Amanda also writes for the PSBA Bulletin, the Pennsylvania School Boards Association magazine. With an avid interest in education, she looks forward to detailing the happenings of North Hills School District Board of Directors. Amanda resides in Hampton Township and loves the Philadelphia Phillies, hockey and acquiring stamps in her U.S. National Parks Passport. When she has a free moment, she enjoys playing tennis and dragon boating.
